Questions for this Bid/RFP

Do you intend to select 1 or 2 firms per discipline, or many? When a need arises, would you typically ask 2 or 3 or 4 firms for competitive proposals/bids, or do you anticipate negotiating a scope and fee with the firm that you believe would be best-suited to the task at hand?
It is anticipated that a portion of the services could be provided either by an individual person or a firm. Each proposer should identify which technical expertise, or combination of technical expertise, for which they wish to be considered. The City will enter into one or more agreements with one or more firms depending on the range of applicants and expertise.
Might urban design work include some significant public realm design assignments, or would that be handled separately by public works?
The anticipated urban design work would not include public infrastructure design.
Do you have any estimate of the range(s) within which the fees per task/assignment might fall? Is there an established maximum fee that might be associated with an assignment under this program, beyond which you would intend to issue a separate RFQ/RFP?
Specific projects a consultant would be working on are not identified at this time.
Do potential assignments include updating elements of the general plan or preparing or amending significant specific plans or area plans? Or do you anticipate mostly project-scale work? Or a mix of both?
Assignments can include moderate and large development project management and staffing support as well as long-range planning tasks.

How many firms will the City select per category?

May we pursue only one category?
The City will enter into one or more agreements with one or more firms depending on the range of applicants and expertise. It is not necessary that a single firm/individual be able to provide expertise in all the areas.
The RFP does not specifically request a team organization chart and resumes. Should section IV.4 "Describe specialized training, experience, and professional competence..." focus on our team members individual experience? Would the City like an organization chart in this section?
Sufficient information should be provided to demonstrate team members specialized training, experience, and professional competence in the relevant field(s) which can be done through resumes and an organization chart.
