Question

I have a few questions regarding the plumbing and electrical aspects of the Hillview Dog Park project. I would appreciate your clarification to ensure all requirements are met during the planning and construction phases. 1. Plumbing System Details • Could you provide more details about the plumbing system requirements, particularly for water fountains, dog wash stations, or irrigation systems? • Are there any specific materials or standards the City prefers for underground plumbing installations? • Is a backflow prevention device required, and if so, are there any location or specification preferences? 2. Electrical System Details • For the low-level pathway and security lighting, could you clarify if the City has any preferences for light fixture types, manufacturers, or energy efficiency ratings? • What are the conduit size and material requirements for electrical installations? • Should provisions for future electrical additions (e.g., additional lighting or outlets) be included in the design? 3. General Coordination • Are there any known utilities or site-specific constraints that might impact the placement of plumbing or electrical systems? • Will the City provide access to existing utility maps or site services for planning purposes?

Answer

Thank you for your interest. The intent of this solicitation is to hire a Landscape Architect, Civil Engineer, or other qualified designer to complete the construction documents. The level of detail you request will be resolved through that process. Once the construction documents are complete, the City will separately publish a request for bids for construction services. There is a topographic survey provided with the RFP which shows the known utilities in the area. City standard details are available on the City website.
