Question
Question No. 1: Should proposals include the services of a certified arborist due to the nearby mature vegetation? Or, is an arborist unnecessary since it appears that the existing vegetation will need to be completely removed to construct the proposed improvements?
Question No. 2: Should the proposals include the services of a structural engineer to design the foundations of the shade structure or light poles? Or can we exclude their services and assume that the foundation designs can be submitted by the general contractor as a deferred submittal, pending the final approval or selection of the manufactured item?
Answer
Arborist services will be furnished by the City. Structural engineering services should be included in your proposal package.
