Summary

The City of Los Altos, Santa Clara County, California, invites sealed bids for furnishing labor, material and equipment required to complete the project in the particular locations, of the forms, sizes and dimensions and of the materials and to the lines and grades and at the elevations as shown and delineated upon the plans and specifications made therefore.

The project is to repair Fremont Avenue roadway surface, between Grant Road and the Stevens Creek Bridge within the City of Los Altos. Work includes, but is not limited to, mobilization, striping removal, 6” thick asphalt concrete pavement repairs (mill & plug), asphalt overlay on existing pavement, traffic control, miscellaneous re-striping and other items or details that are required by the contract Drawings and Specifications.

Virtual Bid Opening Instructions

As a temporary measure in response to the City’s efforts to reduce the potential risks of COVID-19, the City will conduct a “virtual” public bid opening conducted via Ring Central Meeting application’s video conference meeting. There will be no in-person meetings. Virtual public bid opening can be accessed with desktop application or internet browser. Instructions for joining virtual public bid opening for each method is listed below.

Follow the link provided above on your computer’s internet browser. You will be prompted with two options to join the meeting. “Download & run Ring Central meetings” and “Join from Browser”

Option 1: “Download & Run Ring Central Meetings” for Desktop Application*

Click Download & Run Ring Central meetings and let the download complete.
Clicking the link to meeting after installation of desktop application should launch and join the meeting automatically. You will be prompted to choose audio options, choose “Join with Computer Audio”.

Option 2: Join from browser (no download required):

You will be asked for a name before joining. Please enter your first name and name of your company.
You will need to call in with phone to join for audio. Call-in number, meeting ID and participant ID is listed at the lower portion of the screen.

Questions for this Bid/RFP

Engineer’s estimate: $1.8M
Construction hours shall be 7am to 5:30pm on Monday to Friday. Peak hours shall be 8am-10am and 3pm to 5pm. The City will monitor the traffic condition during COVID and adjust the peak hours as needed.
For areas where 10-ft lane is not feasible in each direction, the contractor shall submit a traffic control plan showing one-way reversible traffic control with flaggers for City review and approval.
A minimum relative compaction is 95%, without looking at the required maximum/minimum as specified in the project documents using CTM. CTM 304 is the method to be used in the sampling of AC. References to CTM 304 are found in Caltrans IA of said CTM 304 outline.
