RFP - Community Engagement & Design Services for Downtown Park with Underground Parking

Summary

You are invited to submit proposals to provide community engagement and design services for a Downtown Park with Underground Parking, outlined and delineated in the enclosed Scope of Work.

The city of Los Altos is requesting proposals from licensed professional architects and engineers who demonstrate that they possess the knowledge and organizational, functional, and technical capabilities to understand the needs and provide design and engineering services for the creation of a downtown park space with underground parking in the City-owned parking plazas. This scope of work will focus on completing robust community engagement on potential park amenities and design alternatives before designing the park of the future for downtown Los Altos.

Proposals are due to the City Manager's Office before 3 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Questions for this Bid/RFP

“Page 7 Section IV item 2. With reference to community outreach, does ‘similar’ projects mean urban parks in general, or specifically urban parks on top of underground garages?”
Similar projects would mean any project that the consultant feels would accurately show their relevant experience in this area. That could include urban parks or urban parks on top of underground garages.
“Page 7 Section IV item 5. On page 4 it is noted that the future scope of work may include DD (Phase 3) and CDs (Phase 4). Does the cost/fee need to be provided for all 4 phases or just Phases 1 & 2?”
On page 4, that sentence is referencing that the project will proceed with Phases 3 and 4 once the preferred design alternative has been identified. The consultant should provide a cost estimate for all 4 Phases, including as much cost information as they can provide based upon the information in the RFP.
