RFP - Community Engagement & Design Services for Downtown Park with Underground Parking

Summary

You are invited to submit proposals to provide community engagement and design services for a Downtown Park with Underground Parking, outlined and delineated in the enclosed Scope of Work.

The city of Los Altos is requesting proposals from licensed professional architects and engineers who demonstrate that they possess the knowledge and organizational, functional, and technical capabilities to understand the needs and provide design and engineering services for the creation of a downtown park space with underground parking in the City-owned parking plazas. This scope of work will focus on completing robust community engagement on potential park amenities and design alternatives before designing the park of the future for downtown Los Altos.

Proposals are due to the City Manager's Office before 3 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Questions for this Bid/RFP

Similar projects would mean any project that the consultant feels would accurately show their relevant experience in this area. That could include urban parks or urban parks on top of underground garages.
On page 4, that sentence is referencing that the project will proceed with Phases 3 and 4 once the preferred design alternative has been identified. The consultant should provide a cost estimate for all 4 Phases, including as much cost information as they can provide based upon the information in the RFP.
We would prefer if you could fit the information into a 5 page limit. Resumes do not need to be fully listed out, but showing the breadth of experience in their area of expertise and on similar projects.
The City does not have a fee template.
The City requests that all consultants provide CEQA services as part of the project scope.
The City does not have a set budget for the overall project yet because City staff and City Council will need to understand the full costs prior to allocating dollars.
The City would like to complete the work in a reasonable period of time, but there is no set schedule.
The City would like applicants to include all subconsultants that will be necessary to complete the listed scope of work. There is no specific requirement for subconsultants, but applicants should include all subconsultants they feel are necessary.
